Breaking: Lex Luthor and Alfred Pennyworth have been cast in the untitled ‘Batman/Superman’ film
Jesse Eisenberg has been cast as Superman’s ultimate villain, Lex Luthor, in the upcoming Batman/Superman film, Warner Bros. studio announced today. uhhh….what?
The Oscar-nominated actor is known for his work in The Social Network, Zombieland, Now You See Me and Aventureland. I know what you’re thinking….not a flashy casting…
We have seen Eisenberg play the egotistical role before in a movie and he will have to channel that again in this Zach Snyder, May 2016 film.
Snyder went on to say in the studio’s statement: “What’s great about Lex is that he exists beyond the confines of the stereotypical nefarious villain. He’s a complicated and sophisticated character whose intellect, wealth and prominence position him as one of the few mortals able to challenge the incredible might of Superman. Having Jesse in the role allows us to explore that interesting dynamic, and also take the character in some new and unexpected directions.” Well if anything… it should be interesting…
The studio also announced that Jeremy Irons has been cast as Bruce Wayne’s butler, Alfred Pennyworth. The British, badass deep-voiced, Irons is less of a surprise casting. He should play an excellent Alfred.
This Fim has not been titled yet but is already some controversy with the announcement that Bruce Wayne/Batman would be played by Academy Award winner Ben Affleck.
The film will also star, Amy Adams, Henry Cavill, Diane Lane, Gal Gadot and Laurence Fishburne.
